New Future Of The Left mp3 Arming Eritrea

Earlier this month we announced details for the new Future Of The Left album, Travels With Myself and Another, due out here June 20.

Now here is the first song from it:

Lead-off track Arming Eritrea sets the tone for the album. It lulls the listener into a false sense of security before exploding through the speakers with a bloodthirsty roar of fuzzy bass and distorted guitar lines.

New video from Future Of The Left

Late last year, Welsh trio Future Of The Left released an mp3 of The Hope That House Built, the first single from their as yet untitled sophomore album due out later this year. A few months on and now comes the video:

The single is due out March 21 on 7".

And while you wait in anticipation for the new album, you can satiate yourself with their recently released live album Last Night I Saved Her From Vampires, featuring 19 tracks recorded at 2 shows back in August.

And for those music pirates out there, Andy Falkous has this to say:
"Oh, and by the way, the next person, male or female, who accosts me at a show, incredulous at our lack of success then tells me that they illegally downloaded all of our music gets punched squarely in the tits. No exceptions. Be a feckless, short-sighted fucking thief all you like but self-righteous hypocrites with no sense of the absurd are valid, vapid targets."
Bless them. More at their blog.

Future Of The Left cancel tour

Welsh trio Future Of The Left have reluctantly pulled out of all their upcoming tour dates, including shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, as well as dates in the UK and China.

The band released a statement attributing the decision to building pressure to release their second album in the first half of 2009.
“We have been unable to write the second record and we are increasingly aware of the need to do so. We want to get it out before summer so we can spend next year playing it to people.

"It is against everything the band stands for to pull shows, or anything that we have already committed to doing, and we apologise to everyone who had bought a ticket or was going to come along.

"We will be back as soon as we can next year and we promise to make it worth the wait."

Future Of The Left were scheduled to play in Australia in early January.

Prior to the release of their official second album, the band will be releasing new live album Last Night I Saved Her From Vampires in the coming months.
