VULGARGRAD - KING OF CROOKS ALBUM LAUNCH TOUR

VulgarGrad, that mysterious band of Russian criminals, are on tour in July- launching their long-awaited new CD King of Crooks.
Fronted by Polish-born gravelly-voiced strongman and rough diamond of stage and screen, Jacek Koman, VulgarGrad are the only band in the country that play music by, for, and about Russian thieves: raucous drinking songs, melancholy waltzes, manic oompah and hot swing from the Cold War.
Be prepared for a night of gun-slinging, vodka-swilling, foul-mouthed disorder, and watch out for the biggest, most triangular instrument around, the contrabass balalaika. Wear a stripy top, learn to swear in Russian, and you will dance or the trumpeter will shoot you.
VulgarGrad have performed at leading venues and festivals around Australia, including The Famous Spiegeltent, The Toff in Town, the Melbourne International Arts Festival, St. Kilda Festival, The Adelaide Fringe Festival, The Woodford Folk Festival, the Brisbane Cabaret Festival, The Northbridge Festival (WA), The Sydney Opera House Studio, The Sydney Festival, and the Great Escape Festival (NSW).
VulgarGrad were featured in the soundtrack for the Channel 9 drama series, Underbelly in 2008. They were also featured guest on ABC TV’s Spicks and Specks in August 2008.
