Devastations return to Melbourne for one show only
Taking a brief hiatus from their hiatus, Melbourne's Devastations will be returning to their home town to perform at the East Brunswick Club on Friday 6th February. This will be their one and only Australian show in the foreseeable future so you'll be a fool to miss it.Following the release of their acclaimed third album Yes, U in late 2007, Devastations went on a massive five month tour of Europe before heading back to Australia to play a sprinkling of shows earlier this year, followed by a tour of Europe and the UK supporting Blonde Redhead. Early in 2008 the band played a number of festivals including the esteemed Primavera Festival.
The band have also collaborated with Blonde Redhead for the Aaron and Bryce Dessner (The National) curated AIDs benefit compilation Dark Was the Night, which will be released in February through 4AD. The collaboration sees Blonde Redhead's Kazu adding vocals to the instrumental track Misericordia from Yes, U. Conrad has also provided a song for Alan Vega's (Suicide) 70th Birthday EP series which also sees contributions from Grinderman, Primal Scream, Sunn O))) and Peaches.
